Wyatt's costume w/ the glowing eyes was awesome as we walked around in the dark to trick-or-treat. Not so awesome however for the daytime parties, etc. b/c his hood/mask completely covered that adorable face.


We had a fun Halloween, Steve and I were able to hit a couple fun parties this year. I don't have pics of Steve's or my costume. I was a flapper (thanks Ambie for the lend) and Steve was the crazy/yelling BYU fan w/his daughter on his shoulders. He fished his BYU sweatshirt costume out of Lake Powell when we were just there for U.E.A. and he pinned a cabbage patch doll to his shoulders. haha Gotta love Steve-o. :)))

Summer's Last Hurrah @ East Canyon

We camped @ East Canyon this past weekend with my sis & her fam.

It was tubing weather (windyyyy/choppy lake)...

Grandparents RULE!

Grandma & Grandpa D have a great thing going on that we call "Grandma Grandpa day". Every other Tuesday they invite Wyatt to a fun activity, once a month it's just grandma, grandpa & Wyatt and once a month its all the (Utah) grandkids together. They've had some good times together at Liberty Park, hiking, live performances/plays or just hangin' at their house watching America's Funniest Videos (Wyatt laughs his HEAD off at this show). G/G day is AWESOME. Wyatt looks forward to it.

Wildflower-a-palooza!!!

Hit the Albion Basin (Cecret Lake) this week. Unbelievable beauty. We kept talking about how awesome it is to live in Utah and how we wouldn't rather live anywhere than right here and how people travel across the country to see this sight and here it is in our own backyard. I LOVE UTAH THE GREATEST PLACE ANYWHERE. (Ya, so I've never lived anywhere else but I don't think I'd want to... I've travelled around a bit and nowhere compares to the diversity and natural wonders of Utah.)

Why I hate ward softball...

Steve tore his hamstring at ward softball the other night. The dude doesn't know how to play with anything less than 110%. And there's just something about ward softball that doesn't agree w/Steve. A few years ago he broke his ankle/tore ligaments at ward softball! So thats it! I'm exerting my wifely authority (BAH!) and no more softball for Steve-o. It's messing up all my summer plans... :( poor me. haha j/k

I could never count all of the blessings that have come into my life from that one best decision to marry Steve 15 years ago, but one of my favorites is the blessing of getting to go to Lake Powell every summer with his wonderful family. We always have such a great trip together and there's just something special about that place. It remains my favorite place on earth.

Wyatt: "Ya know how you're more into the church than Dad?"
Me: "What?"
Wyatt: "Ya know how you are more into the church than Dad?"
Me: "What do you mean?"
Wyatt: "Well remember when I faked that I was sick so I could stay home from church and Dad stayed with me so he could watch football?"
Me: "Ok"
Wyatt: "I wanted to do it again the next week, but I think the Holy Ghost told me that it wouldn't be a good choice."

Funny to get a glimpse into the mind of a 7 year old. Hahaha

We took a spur-of-the-moment little vaca to Rocky Point, Mexico with SA and her fam last week. We drove there! It's a 13ish hour drive! And the a/c in our car was kind of on the fritz! And somehow it was still totally worth it! :)

Mt Oly!!

So proud of Wyatt! We hiked Mt. Olympus yesterday. This is the steepest, most difficult hike we've taken Wyatt on so far and he was a CHAMP! He only asked to turn around once. I do confess, however, that distraction techniques were in full use (lets just say I now know every type of Pokemon both real and those created in Wyatt's imagination, every kind of power they hold, what they evolve into, and who would win who in every type of battle). But Wyatt does truly LOVE to climb on the rocks. Once we got past the saddle, its basically like rock climbing/scrambling and he could have played there all day.

We had such a fun adventure together! It was a cool, humid day with thunderstorms all around us. We caught a few sprinkles and even a little hail! So awesome! haha And on the way down Steve was thisclose to stepping on a rattlesnake! Basically it was a total blast. Wyatt says he's now ready to take on the tallest mountain in the world. K2 and Mt. Everest here we come! :) (just kidding of course!)
