Race for the Cure

We LOVE this event. We run, we cry, we feel blessed that my mom beat breast cancer. This year Wyatt walked w/my mom. He has lots of good ideas about how we can beat cancer: "I'll just suck the cancer out" and "I'll slay the cancer w/a sword, mommy". See, like this:

The Earth Laughs in Flowers

The Tulip Festival @ the Thanksgiving Point Gardens is one of my favorite Spring events. I love that we have these beautiful gardens so close by. And as we were walking out we got to see President Monson as he was just arriving and was being brought in on a golf cart. It was exciting to see the Prophet so close up!

Easter

Grandma D's Egg Hunt
Sweet! Lizards! Wyatt got plenty of candy - so lizards were a great surprise to see inside Grandma D's eggs.



The GREAT EGG Experiment
Grandma D did scientific experiments with Wyatt for a fun Easter activity. They learned about the parts of the egg and made hypotheses about how strong an eggshell is, whether eggs float in water/salt water, etc. As you can see Wyatt was mesmerized. He loves to be a little scientist.





Maddie read an Easter story to her cousins
Maddie is the sweetest older cousin, ever. Every single one of her cousins absolutely adore her.



Grandma Barb's Egg Hunt



The Easter Bunny came to our backyard!
(Except Wyatt knows that the good stuff, i.e. the Star Wars toys, actually come from Mom & Dad. haha)




Overall Wyatt was spoiled rotten and had a blast. Isn't that what holidays are for? :)

Me: "Sure"
Wyatt: "Oh, good! Cause Sierra is 6 already"
later - Wyatt: "I gave Sierra a love note today in kindergarten"
Me: "Oh yeah? What did it say?"
Wyatt: "It had stars and hearts. Lots of them."
Me: "Nice. Did you write any words?"
Wyatt: "No, Mom. Duh. You don't need to write I love you cause everyone knows you only give love notes to people you love."
This makes me smile. You go, little kindergarten romeo!

Kindergarten Walking Report Card

Fave moment of the evening: The kids put on a DARLING, IMPRESSIVE, ENTERTAINING and SWEET little program and in the middle of a song, like as they are singing, Wyatt yells out "Thats not the way it goes!" and then he runs off the stage and comes and tells Steve how its all wrong! ummm.... yeah. Thats Wyatt.
And its sweet.
it's endearing.
it's funny.
he's confident.
he shares his opinions openly.
he is unmovable.
if he knows something, then its set in stone and nobody can change his mind.
And I love him.
He wasn't the only kid to make all the parents lol - there was also the kid who blurted out "I feel like I'm going to puke!" HAHA Kids are great.
